Booking and Payments

To secure your date Cake of the Day will require a non-refundable booking fee of £50 for wedding cakes and £20 for other celebration cakes, this is to be sent to the bank account listed on your invoice. Until I receive your booking deposit I cannot secure the date.

Final payment

Final payment for wedding cakes is due 1 month prior to your date. For celebration cakes, either full payment is required at time of booking if your cake is within 2 weeks, or if a booking fee has been paid then your final balance will be due 2 weeks prior.

Delivery or Collection

Delivery is included free of charge for wedding cakes within a 20 mile drive of Cake of the Day’s premises (3 Queens Parade, Cheltenham, GL50 3BB). There will be a fee beyond this distance to cover time and petrol costs, this will be itemised in your quote and invoice. Cake of the Day does not accept wedding cakes to be collected as we stack and set-up cakes upon delivery to your venue in order to avoid damage in transit. If the cake has to be moved after set up then, where possible, a signature from the venue will be obtained to verify the cake was left in good condition. We accept no liability after this has been signed.

For celebration cakes, collection can be arranged from Cake of the Day’s premises or delivery may be arranged.

For collection, a date and time will be mutually agreed, and, once the cake has left the premises, Cake of the Day cannot accept any liability should there be any damage to the cake. Although we will do our best to accommodate delivery, we cannot guarantee availability for this. A charge may be applicable for drives further than 5 miles, this will be itemised in your quote and invoice. Cake of the Day does not offer specific delivery times, but will always do the best we can to ensure delivery dates and times agreed are met. However, the company cannot accept liability for delays.

For all deliveries, please ensure you provide the correct name, address and date. We cannot accept liability for any damage after the collection or delivery of your cake.

Set up

It is your responsibility to ensure that your chosen venue supplies a suitable table and location for your cake. During high temperatures, it is advisable that your cake is displayed in an air conditioned room. Any cake placed outside during an event is susceptible to melting in the heat. We have no control over the stability of your cake and the decoration of it if the temperature in the area in which it is displayed is unusually high for the UK.

Stand Hire

Stands are available for hire for a charge of £10 and we take a refundable deposit of £50 in case of any damage. This will be returned to you if the stand is returned undamaged within a week. We have a range of stands available to choose from, however these may be limited based on other events we have catered for at the same time.

Wedding cake consultations

Consultations are by appointment only, which must be agreed with Cake of the Day by email or phone call. A consultation will cost £20 and this will come off the final price of your cake should we agree an order, this fee must be paid ahead of the date agreed. The consultation itself involves tasting of up to 4 flavours which are up to our discretion, and a discussion around the design. This can take place either in the comfort of your own home or, if you would rather, in a cafe or similar.

Non-edible items

Most cakes will have non-edible items; all tiered cakes will contain dowels for stability, and your cake may have sugar (may contain wire)/artificial/real flowers and ribbon. It is your responsibility that these items are not eaten by your guests at your event. If real flowers are being used please ensure that they are organic and there is no water seepage as this will damage the decoration which we will not be liable for,


Please discuss any allergens that need to be catered for either in the consultation or other correspondences. Allergens will be catered for, however please beware that this is a working kitchen and therefore there may be traces of allergens within your cakes. An allergen list will be supplied with your cake when delivered or collected.
